2010 in Film, A Look Ahead

If you want to see what’s out there for yourself, I highly recommend Dark Horizons exhausting eleven part series on The Notable Films of 2010. This is just my personally culling of a few of these types of lists. Films appear in no particular order. Lot’s of promising stuff on here, though this also appears to be the year of sequels and reboots (more so than usual).

Will probably be updated. Last updated on 01.20.2010.

Excited For:

Inception
The more I watch the trailer, the more bad-ass this movie looks.

Somewhere
Not too much info on this.

Paul
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost can do no wrong.

Due Date
Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis will make this entertaining.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Tron Legacy
Two words: IMAX 3D. They won’t let me embed the trailer, so here’s a link.

Iron Man 2
More entertainment. I hope the movie is going to be as polished as this trailer.

Toy Story 3

The Tree of Life
Sounds like an absolute epic.

You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger
I still haven’t seen Whatever Works, but this sounds promising for a Woody Allen movie.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I

Norwegian Wood
Murikami!

Predators
Ugh. I think the original is one of the better movies ever made, so this will no doubt be insulting, but I will have to see for myself.

The Expendables
This will probably be a pretty sweet trip down action movie memory lane.

True Grit

Hot Tub Time Machine
Fun? Maybe. Best title of the year? Probably.

You Never Know:

Your Highness

The Adjustment Bureau
Philip K Dick!

Knockout
Reminds me of the book Friday by Heinlein.

The American

Socialisme
Godard. You never know.

The Greatest
Carey Mulligan is in this.

The Other Guys
I for one liked Anchorman, so I think I’ll rent this.

Robin Hood

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Enter the Void

I Am Love

Tucker & Dale vs Evil
This could be fun (on DVD).

Please Make It End:

Extraordinary Measures
Harrison Ford is saving his family!

Red Dawn
This absolutely does not need a reboot!

Dinner for Schmucks
Why would they remake Le Dîner de Cons!

Georgia
Not sure about the timing or the message of this probably propaganda piece.

Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore
You know you want to see the trailer.
